Forest School
At Banstead Infant School we are very fortunate to have a well-established Forest School site within the school grounds. This gives our children the unique educational opportunity of experiencing hands-on play and learning in a woodland environment throughout the year.
During Forest School, children learn through play and exploration. Through experience they connect with things they can see, hear, smell and touch. Forest School is about making a connection with nature and producing a lifelong interest and love for the natural environment.
Forest School operates all year round and an integral part of this adventure is that children will experience the outdoors in all weathers. With the exception of very high winds and thunder storms, please assume that your child will be outside when taking part in Forest School. All children taking part in Forest School wear waterproof clothing, provided by the school; however your child is welcome to use their own wellington boots if they wish.
Finally, all activities are risk assessed and risk assessments are in place. You are welcome to view these along with our Forest School Handbook. Please ask at the school office if you would like to see any of these documents.
All children have the opportunity to take part in Forest School activities throughout their time at school. If you have any questions about Forest School, please come to the school office. We thank you for your support during this exciting time for your child and the school.
